Closed-loop control of SCR systems with a NH3-sensitive NOx sensor

Authors: A. Bonfils, Y. Creff, O. Lepreux, and N. Petit, 8th IFAC Symposium on Advanced Control of Chemical Processes, pp. 738 - 743, July 10-13, 2012, Singapore
This paper presents a control strategy for an automotive selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system, for which the feedback is based on a NOx sensor measurement. This NOx sensor is cross-sensitive to NH3, which is critical for control purposes: a study of the closed-loop dynamics is performed which permits to calibrate the control strategy. Experimental results illustrate the performance of the proposed approach.
